7th Annual CANQATE Conference and Meeting. 2010

The Accreditation Council of Trinidad and Tobago (ACTT)  hosted the 7th Annual Conference and Meeting of the Caribbean Area Network for Quality Assurance in Tertiary Education (CANQATE). CANQATE is a professional body established as a sub-network of the worldwide organisation, the International Network for Quality Assurance Agencies in Higher Education (INQAAHE). The principal purpose of this worldwide network is to "enable members to share information about the maintenance, evaluation, accreditation and improvement of higher education and to disseminate good practices in the field of Quality Assurance".

The CANQATE Conference and Meeting was held during the period November 23-26, 2010 at the National Academy for the Performing Arts (NAPA), Port of Spain, Trinidad and Tobago. A pre-conference workshop was held on November 23, 2010 on 'Effective Governance and Administration at Higher Education Institutions'.

The overall theme of the conference was 'Continuously Enhancing the Quality of Higher Education for Global Competitiveness'. The conference offered a platform for academics, teachers, educational administrators, training coordinators, quality assurance professionals, government officials and industry personnel from the Caribbean and global community to share best practices, present research papers and review recent developments in the area of quality in tertiary education.
