Corporate Secretary/Legal Officer
Ms. Cheryl-Ann Steele is the Corporate Secretary/Legal Officer at the Accreditation Council of Trinidad and Tobago having joined the Council on September 1st 2020. In her current role, she provides corporate secretaryship services and offers legal advice to the Board, coordinates all legal matters and ensures legal regulatory compliance.
Prior to joining ACTT Ms. Steele has had a multifaceted career as an advocate attorney in private practice and primarily as Corporate Secretary/Legal Officer in the Public Sector. She served throughout Trinidad at several Regional, City and Borough Corporations under the Ministry of Rural Development and Local Government for over 15 years. Ms. Steele has also lectured law at various tertiary level institutions in Trinidad and Tobago. In a voluntary capacity she has also served as secretary to the Board of A.S.P.I.R.E, a non-governmental, non-profit advocacy group lobbying for sexual and reproductive rights.
She holds a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) Degree from the University of London and a Legal Education Certificate (LEC) from Hugh Wooding Law School Trinidad and was called to the Guyana Bar in 2016.
