Curtis Floyd

Executive Director

Curtis Floyd, currently holds the position of Executive Director at The Accreditation Council of Trinidad and Tobago (ACTT). He has been employed with this organisation from 2005 to present, during which time he served as the first appointed Accreditation Officer and subsequently as the first Manager of Registration. This was followed by his appointment as Director, Accreditation and Quality Enhancement. Mr Floyd also held the position of Executive Director (Ag) on past occasions.

Having entered the workforce in 1985, he has worked at various levels of the education system as a Curriculum Facilitator, Primary School Principal, part-time Tutor on the Bachelor of Education programme with the University of the West Indies (UWI) Open Campus, as well as teaching both locally and abroad.

Over the years, Mr Floyd has presented at several conferences on topics pertaining to quality assurance and tertiary education locally, regionally and internationally. He has also been on contingents which forged strategic partnerships with regional and international educational and quality assurance agencies.

Regionally, he has assisted with the training of External Evaluators and the establishment of External Quality Assurance Agencies (EQAAs).  He also served as an executive member of the Caribbean Area Network for Quality Assurance in Tertiary Education (CANQATE) for two consecutive terms for the periods between 2011 and 2015. He currently holds the position of President of CANQATE for a second consecutive term.


Mr Floyd holds a:

  • Master’s in Education, with specialization in Educational Administration and Curriculum, UWI, St Augustine;
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Education, University of the West Indies, St. Augustine;
  • Certificate in Education in the Teaching of Integrated Science, UWI, Open Campus;
  • Certificate in the Legal Aspects of Education, University of the West Indies, Open Campus; and
  • Teacher’s Diploma: Valsayn Teachers’ Training College.

He served on national interim and standing committees including:

  • Appointed member of the National Advisory Committee on Education, Ministry of Education.
